We’re pregnant! Ah! It feels like I’ve been waiting my whole life to say that.
Although, fairly untrue as I had waffled on wanting kids until I met Gabe. Falling in love with him was what sealed the deal for me as I couldn’t imagine NOT creating a family with him.
2020 has been quite the year for us all, but it was a bit of a blessing in our household. It gave an opportunity for me to slow down a bit, to travel for work a bit less and finally gave us time that we could commit to making a mini Gabe or Jordan.
We found out when we were 5 weeks along, and Bebe Alvarado was the size of an Apple Seed. I remember looking to the size comparison chart, that compares the size of the fetus to fruit (or toys or baked goods) and feeling so inspired to create art with those fruits each week. Then first trimester symptoms slapped me in the face and away that idea went.
About the same time I started feeling better, we did some blood work to run some genetic tests, and got the news that our little noodle was a BOY.
By the end of that week, at 12 weeks, he was the size of a fig. A week later, a Mandarin Orange.
At 14 weeks, he grew to the size of an apple. The following week, at 15, he was a pear.
I’m 18 weeks as of a few days ago, and last week, at 17 weeks, from the tip of his head to his little bottom he was the size of a Pomegranate.
The growth is honestly so inspiring. I’ve loved following his little growth week by week and will continue to take it through this type of process until he’s here in my arms, and I have a new subject.
